When you were a kid did you ever lie on your lawn and feel the grass tickle your arms with the blades of grass as you looked up at the passing clouds? Did you ever try and figure out what the clouds were forming? Or did you ever walk barefoot in the soft green grass and feel the coolness under your feet? Those were the days of simplicity and awareness.
It has been a long time since I did any of those things but today I was awoken by my puppy Lucy before 7am. Her stomach was telling her it was breakfast time. If she wasn’t so cute I may have turned over and tried to fall back to sleep but I got up and fed her. How could I say no to that face? I found out later that she gave the same look to my husband a half hour later and he feed her too not knowing that I had already done it. I think it is safe to say that Lucy had her “small moment” this morning too with two breakfasts. LOL
After she was taken care of I decided to go back to bed. It was Saturday after all and just after 7am.
This is where my “small moment” happened. I was lying there in bed with all my windows open and a cool breeze blowing in, moving the curtains away from the window. I also had the overhead fan on so I was getting the breeze from all directions. I laid there feeling the nice cool breeze brushing my face and was listening to the birds chirping in the background. It is amazing how loud and active those birds are that early in the morning. It brought back memories of the days when I would lie on the lawn looking up in the sky trying to picture the turtle, rabbit, clown, or dolphin floating by in the clouds above me. Ah, to be young again even just for a “small moment”. I quickly and easily fell fast asleep.
Take time to enjoy the blades of grass rubbing against you, the clouds forming beautiful art in the sky, or the cool breeze of the morning.
If you feel comfortable sharing a “small moment” or two with me I would love to hear from you.
Here’s to many “small moments ” in your day!! And to the memories of childhood!!
PS. What formation do you see in the picture above?
